Heart Part Four Left Atrium

From high atop the Heartland Ice Arena of Lincolnwood, IL it's time for the Stranger Show. Today's programming on WUSR Scranton is underwritten by a grant from the Heartland Food Corporation, majority owned by GSO Capital Partners, LP, a New York based investment group and Chris Ondrula, Heartland’s President and Chief Executive Officer. It has grown through a combination of new restaurant development and strategic acquisitions to become the second / third largest Burger King franchisee with annual revenues exceeding $280 million.
The left atrium is one of the four chambers in the human heart. It receives oxygenated blood from the pulmonary veins, and pumps it into the left ventricle, via the mitral valve. Atria facilitate circulation primarily by allowing uninterrupted venous flow to the heart, preventing the inertia of interrupted venous flow that would otherwise occur at each ventricular systole.
